switched to an all Christmas format at least 2 weeks ago - and won't switch back till end of February. I'd like to boycott their advertisers but that would force me to actually listen to them!

All the Christmas decorations are already up, and a band was playing the Christmas carols, with people singing along. There was nothing wrong with it, just way too early.

I think some American families follow the German tradition of not putting up their tree until Christmas Eve. The retailers really HATE that idea, and they've been cramming Christmas down our throats since Halloween was over.

Every year, a few people leave the Halloween stuff up until almost Thanksgiving, while others put their outside Christmas lights up weeks ago.

Not too long ago for several years running two of the five music stations I normally favor switched to all-Christmas programming the day after Hallowe'en. I assumed this was the new normal and last year had plenty of music on my phone and a bluetooth speaker for the commute. This year I noted that nobody was playing anything but normal fare except for one station which started playing very occasional Christmas tunes this week, and even that station wasn't 100% Christmas, maybe 50%, yesterday (T'day eve Wednesday). People had actual Thanksgiving lawn decorations out, which I hadn't seen for years because of the Christmas eclipse. I have no idea what changed but it's almost like stepping through a time machine to an era when there was still a holiday in November.
