Two shots to get the party started. Now a Scorpion. Rum, brandy, orange juice, lemon juice, simple syrup, and a cherry. Yummy!
Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving.
Im just polishing off some leftovers after the Great Post-Thanksgiving Refrigerator Raid.

(68,691 posts)Look after yourself. If a pizza would make you feel better, get one.
You have your DU friends here if you need them.
Are you thinking about hurting yourself?

Im just trying to clean up her crap and get my house back.
Yesterday was my first holiday alone... not looking forward to Christmas and my Bday is new year...ugh
Did you report her?
Do you feel safe now?
If you came here for healing, I hope we can give you some

She's apparently elsewhere in a homeless shelter...she should be in a facility or jail. I'm safe at home ...its my house.
Just trying to muddle through the worst of it. Got a great therapist through my college...

(19,396 posts)do you prefer baked or unbaked?
Aristus
(68,691 posts)Whatever its prepared, I love cheesecake!
Marthe48
(19,396 posts)Unbaked doesn't, at least the one I made for yesterday. I would've have made a baked cheesecake, but it's been awhile since I got the ok to bring any cheesecake. I forgot when you bake a cheesecake, you have to cool it gradually, so I didn't have time Thanksgiving morning. But I used a good, rich unbaked recipe, with a layer of chocolate on the crust. Really glad I didn't have to make the whole meal!

Aristus
(68,691 posts)My own mashed potatoes. Theyre the best. The secret is the right amounts each of milk, butter, salt, and pepper.
My step-daughter makes a Jell-O dish that everybody just calls pink stuff. Its yummy.
My mothers cranberry salad, with pecans, walnuts, and marshmallows.

(25,986 posts)the bird itself??
Aristus
(68,691 posts)Turkey is difficult to get just right.
There are game birds that are easier to prepare. Pheasant, quail, partridge, all of which Im quite fond.

(25,728 posts)In a moment of optimism and semi-confidence, I bought 4 T-shirts and a hoodie sweatshirt with assorted Kamala &/or blue wave cat lady designs on them. All useless now. It breaks my heart to look at them.
I'm considering holding a ceremonial burning of them on my patio.

Why can't I divide by zero?
For the record, I'm on my third vodka and iced tea.

Today I was in Costco, and one of those corner sellers had this "Kettle One Espresso Martini". I didn't try it there, but I have been curious about espresso martini's (because I am a Below Deck fan for some odd reason)... Anyway, Ibought it.
I like it!! Gonna be one of those 'special moments' or after dinner kind of drink. Very strong, one little glass is enough (at least for me) I never had a real espresso martini, so I can't compare.
As an aside, I like to put a drop of Kahlua in my coffee (instead of sugar. I'm talking about a small drop. No way drunkenness ever enters the scenario) and some unsweetened dark chocolate powder. Mmmm!

😕
niyad
(120,804 posts)refrigerator. Toasted multi-grain or rye bread, spread with goat cheee, pickled strawberries sort of pressed into it. I had never heard of them before a friend asked if I knew where she could get pink peppercorns (my spice rack, of course!). I looked up pickled strawberries, and, apparently, they are very popular.

(68,691 posts)The only things I like pickled are well pickles

(120,804 posts)There are quite a number of recipes online. I would stick with the cold-brine, refrigerated ones.
