2009 hyundai. Almost $650 for 6 months. The car isn't even worth $3000, but, when you're on a limited income, you do what you gotta do.

(3,417 posts)3000 you should only carry liability. If your car is totaled in an accident the insurance will only pay around 500 or so anyway minus your deductible.
Liability will pay for damage you do to other people's car or body. That's the protection you need.
In a little non schooled in this stuff

(38,081 posts)no matter what the cars value. 5k and under a bigger discount , under 7k gets you a discount .
I have a 2021 Tahoe its just about turning 17k so I should be getting more off. I do have several antique cars on a collectors policy so I try to stagger the mileage on them.
Most of my driving the Tahoe is long distance Virginia or up state Ny. usually with a group of family members. It will be 4 yrs old in Feb.so that about 5k a year.

(9,262 posts)That actually sounds reasonable to me. I always break up my payments by the month so I normally pay around $100 (2009 Hyundai Sonata)....
