Swedish news site's Christmas party ended in vomit fest.

A julbord (Christmas buffet) at a conference for the Omni news site ended rather unpleasantly after close to 30 people, more than half of the site's employees were hit by severe vinterkräksjuka (winter vomiting sickness).

Chief editor Markus Gustafsson wrote in a mail to P4 Stockholm that the poisoning had been a "unfortunate end to a fantastic conference".

you can 'spray' from 'both ends' at the same time).

Also, that julbord pic is just a stock photo, not the actual one at the event. (Arkivbild. Foto: Erik G Svensson/TT, Johan Nilsson/TT)

I have had several episodes of food poisoning, fortunately in each case, one or the other, not both!

Winter vomiting disease - calicivirus

Winter sickness is caused by the calicivirus and spreads very easily. If you get sick, it is often enough to rest and drink properly. You usually get better within one to three days. A good way to avoid infection is to wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water.

Winter sickness is most relevant between November and April. Most people get sick between January and March. That's why it's called winter sickness. But you can get winter sickness all year round. Winter sickness is the most common type of stomach ailment in Sweden. But you can also get sick to your stomach for other reasons .

were either food poisoning or norovirus. But the Google tells me otherwise.

The human caliciviruses (HuCV) are the most common cause of acute gastroenteritis outbreaks in humans, and a common cause of sporadic cases of acute gastroenteritis with vomiting, abdominal cramps, diarrhoea, headache and fever among both children and adults [10,11]. Their role as agents of gastroenteric diseases had long been unrecognized and under-appreciated because diagnostic tools were not commonly available or used. The application of new molecular diagnostic methods has shown caliciviruses to be the most common cause of acute gastroenteritis outbreaks in the USA [11] and in Europe [12].
