My niece was declared missing, a missing person over a week ago. Today she was found safe.

She just disappeared from a town in central British Columbia. Gone for 2 weeks. Her sister just posted she was ok, no details. Details don't matter, she is safe and I am thankful.

BC is a vast mostly empty land, with some tragic history.

Can you tell us how old your niece is? Is she a minor? An adult?

It's the most awful thing for families, when a child goes missing. BC is rugged and dangerous, that she returned, is safe and ok, is nothing short of a miracle. Really happy for her and your family.

My son disappeared when he was little (4 yrs old) for 3 hours and I almost lost my mind. He had wondered off in a field with my sister's adventurous cocker spaniel. Sheriff's plane went up & they found him real easy as he had bright colored clothes on. The police car rolled up at my house with what looked like 15 police inside and there he was in the middle of them. He got out and looked around as if to say "What's all the fuss about?" The next day I had to take him to the Dr as his wee wee was swollen up. His pediatrician looked at him and said "Where have you been young man"? I told him what had happened the day before. Son piped up and said "Yeah, and the cow licked me!" I about died! He had poison ivy.

Doesn't matter how old they are, you still lose your mind when they disappear. So glad your niece was found safe.

So many don't return and the nightmare continues.
Hugs all around for you and your family.
By the way, I'm from British Columbia and have family all over the province. Some may have crossed paths.
