astronomically high nobody wins for weeks or months. It is ridiculous because of greed people
won't buy a ticket unless the prize is in the hundreds of million dollars. I quit wasting my money
on them years ago, lower the odds and give a million dollars to 944 people.

Back in the late '80's I was temping for a few months at a bank's Manhattan HQ.

The NY Lotto was around? 88 million - the largest winning amount at the time.

Anyway... a group of employees pitched in together at a branch in ?Queens of the same bank I was working at.

It kind of felt like "well! ...This could really happen (to a person, or group)".
