Ocelot II
(121,513 posts)In real life all the other animals would have run away and the squirrel would be gnawing on Santa's leg.
10 Turtle Day
(513 posts)In separate incidents, Ive seen a red squirrel chase a much larger gray squirrel and also a cat.

(121,513 posts)Also, some of those animals - the bear, the beaver, the chipmunk and the raccoon - should be denning or hibernating instead of sitting around in the snow.

(20,892 posts)revolve around use of a plastic mat called a "crazy carpet" (I think it may have been spelled Krazy Karpet). There was a nearby slate pit that kids in our neighborhood would flock to -- definitely not as aesthetically pleasing as the image you posted above. The hazard for us was that, depending on the depth of the snowfall, sometimes a piece of slate would be sticking out. If you hit that sharp rock at the wrong angle, it could tear your crazy carpet, or even split it in half. Sometimes it would even slice open your snow/ski pants. Mom was never happy with that outcome.
Interlude over.

(35,188 posts)We sledded down the hills on campus sitting on plastic trays we pilfered from the cafeteria. It was actually called traying.

(20,892 posts)clean trays or did they still have snacks left on them for after the sledding?

(35,188 posts)Usually some kind of alcohol was involved when being used as a sled, though

(19,192 posts)I joke around a lot, but I'll be serious here.
For me, pictures like this elicit some very good memories, and they warm my heart.
Please keep up the good work in posting things like this, and a very Merry Christmas to you.
Niagara
(9,915 posts)I think that most people are aware that I share these to make their day a little brighter.
Apparently there's a few too fucked in the head types of people here that would rather beat someone down for wanting to bring joy to other people.
I'm happy to read that these warm your heart. That is purely my intent. Merry Christmas to you, Lucky!
