(8,013 posts)but I suspect she has some mannerism - I couldn't guess what - that reminds you of someone you couldn't stand, possibly as long ago as childhood.

(2,473 posts)I looked for that (I'm a retired shrink), but all I could come up with was how exaggerated her mannerisms were. She's not natural in front of the camera, but gets herself all pumped up for show. Which I guess is what TV presenters do. I'll keeping mulling it over, though, and see what else comes up. Thanks for the suggestion.

(2,637 posts)I've seen lots of her shows, and have two of her books: "The Art of the English Murder," and "If Walls Could Talk, An Intimate History of the Home." Fascinating stuff!
