But I think most of those companies are pretty good.

I've always had decent luck with online glasses.

And the one time I did not have good luck, this company refunded me immediately without waiting to receive the defective pair back in the mail.

Good luck.

What I did read recently, though is many eye docs now refuse to give pts their rxs for glasses.

Bookmarked.

charging you $40. It's infuriating. He wants you to go to their in-house optical to pay $500 for a pair of glasses.

So I researched how to find your pupillary distance...it's pretty easy to do.

I’ve bought from Glasses USA, very good for single vision. Very good , only $44

I tried them for progressive glasses, it didn’t like the lens. I was able to return easily ans received full refund.

...that wears outlandish outfits on the course.
Even his glasses match the dominant color
He buys his through "Goggles For You". Pays forty or fifty bucks for a pair with single refraction lenses.
I've also heard Zenni is a decent outfit.

Zenni has saved me an absolute fortune from what I would pay at a local optician, and the quality has been just fine. Good service too.

use on-line if you have a strong or complicated prescription. I was only able to get decent glasses on-line after I had cataract surgery because I was extremely nearsighted before.

Good luck.

10. I don't shop for glasses online

I go to Costco for my glasses. I like being able to hold the frames and try them. It's like trying on or feeling the clothes' material rather than hoping everything fits. I picked out frames a couple of years ago and whenever my prescription changes I take a pair to Costco and have them put the new lens in. It takes about a week but that's okay because I have two pairs so I'm never without a pair of glasses.

One thing I don't like is mainly one company controls something like three-quarters of the eyeglass frames in the world so they can keep the prices high. Costco has a good selection of frames and you can get brand name frames or off-brand name frames.

And a couple other places. Due diligence and all that.

I had my eyes checked today and they are getting better! Second time now. I might be able to pass on the high index plastic, which should save me money.

I looked around at the optometrist office selection and found a pair of Prodesign Denmark heritage collection that I love, but they are $400 for the frames alone. My current pair are Prodesign Denmark and I love them, for 7 years now, lol.

The company you're talking about is EssilorLuxottica, they make over 150 brands of frames, most of the designer brands. They are made in Italy or China.

Eye buy direct.
Zenni
Payne glasses
Vooglam if you're looking for crazy
Aoolia
Lensmart.

Sometimes they have frames for 10 cents.

I check for the frames from low to high, and most of the time I can get frames from $1 to 10. I just bought a pair of glasses, total 12.95, but then I had to pay 6 for shipping. I don't think I have ever paid more than 25-30 for my glasses.

The only thing I worried about was making sure my inter-pupil distance was correct...
