Don't think there were many idiots out blowing off their own fingers last night.

I really wish they would pass a law that says fireworks are for Fourth of July only. I’ll compromise with the third of July for two days a year.

They must have lost or misplaced a couple of the big tall rocket tubes. About 20 minutes after the grand finally three more bursts of the big -way up high - big big boom blasts -went off, then no more.

It was 50° @ 9pm. Much colder weather coming the next two weeks.
Keep warm and cozy.

My mom warned me (because I have a noise-sensitive dog) that the casino might shoot off fireworks and sure enough they did. But it was a short burst lasting maybe thirty seconds, followed by a too-long silence of fifteen minutes, followed by two or three random bangs.

I was always used to a quiet New Year's Eve and thought that was the norm except in big cities until I spent New Year's on Maui. It was noisy chaos even in the residential area we were in. I'll spend New Year's in Michigan, thank you.

Happy New Year, Debm55!
