As a child I often had very real dreams of being able to fly like a bird. It was exhilarating.

So how about a nice, happy Momma Bear...Livin in the woods with no humans in sight and having a good old time!!! Scratchin' on trees, bathin' in lakes or hot springs, and eatin trout and berries!
Living in Tahoe, I see plenty Bears, I wish they weren't so endangered by human behavior and the stupid to9urists. That's why I say I'd prefer to be somewhere remote AF!!!

(28,612 posts)I’ve had a bellyful of human interaction this time around. It was a tossup between dolphin and otter for me too. It was the hands that clinched the deal for me.

(4,086 posts)I love the purring of cats and their soft fur, plus I love the sun and being cuddled, with some defiant independence mixed in.
Poms are very cat like (mine mirrored a lot of the behaviors of the cat I’d lost a few months previously).
He sat in my lap as I was working and I’d love to be that pampered.

(335 posts)Don’t care to have a diet of bugs or a raptor diet! I spend a lot of time bird watching. I would love to be able to fly way up to the tree tops and sing. I agree with you about dolphins! When my students would ask me my favorite animal, I always said a dolphin because they always look like they’re smiling and love to jump and play. 😊

In my mind I have often admired wolves. They are intelligent, they love to run, and they seem to do well on their own wherever they find themselves, so they make do and improvise (two skills I wish I was better at). They are also related to dogs, and I absolutely love dogs. I see wolves as the wise elders of companion dogs.

We got somewhat of a different kinda deal. My sister in law and her husband live six blocks from us. They are younger than us, both gainfully employed, unlike us ld people. They have two dogs a chiwawa (phonetic spelling) and a 20 pound mix of some sort. Both incredibly friendly. We have full time access to both which includes the occasional babysitting. It’s a good deal for my in laws and a great deal for us. We are content with that arrangement.

Of course, I would be a very bad dragon, because I could care less about gold. Maybe if I were a dragon, I might give more of a rats ass about it.
