I love cheese, but not on a burger. I don't like pork so no bacon. Other than that it just depends on my mood.

None of that ketchup/mustard/mayo rot--that stuff gags me. In lieu of A-1, I'll put JackStack BBQ sauce on it--that stuff's GOLDEN!

I also like mustard, but I don't put any if the burger is good enough without it.

While in Chicago a week or so ago, I went to the restaurant attached to the hotel and had a cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato and onion on a brioche bun and fries. I love brioche buns. It was delicious and really hit the spot for the long drive home.

Mustard, pickles (dill or bread and butter, but not both), lettuce, onions, onions, and more onions, and cheese (american or cheddar or gruyere).

and at my town's Waffle House, the cook makes, to my specs, a burger with grilled onions, pickles, and American cheese. Nothing else usually, I don't like yellow mustard or ketchup, but I might mix a drop or three of Tabasco into some A-1 Sauce and spread it around to mix on one half of the bun. Just depends on how the fit hits me. If its hot out, forget the burger and give me a standard model BLT !

The cheese is usually swiss, but I'll use others.
The onion/mushroom mix is sautéed in red wine, to add acidity.
I might add lettuce, but has to be a type that will stay crunchy despite the wet ingredients.

I can eat a burger in various ways. easier to say what I don't want on it - bbq sauce on a burger is just WRONG. don't really want mayo on it either but I can eat a wendys jr bacon cheeseburger with it. no potato chips or fritos or crispy onions or jalepenos either. raw is fine. pickled jalepenos fine, grilled onion ok. no mushrooms. most regular kinds of cheese fine, not blue or other moldy kinds though. lettuce tomato can take or not. bacon is ok but a good burger just doesn't need it, other random meats? please don't. don't really like avocado on there and no freaking eggs!

Lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles, ketchup, mustard, cheese, "secret sauce" instead of ketchup and mustard, and mayo.

Thank goodness I had a tasty snack a little while ago, otherwise I'd be drooling.
