(2,867 posts)I'm so glad he found his perfect fit. I just love happy stories like this.
I had a friend at work who adopted a dog who kept running away from his previous families, but he never ran away from her and I told her "that's because he was meant to be with you" and she actually got teary-eyed when I said that. It was the truth.
Some things are just meant to be.

(9,318 posts)and I saw a long haired black cat with yellow eyes in the cage and asked if I could hold him. I was wearing a coat with a hood and he crawled up my neck and laid down in my hood. I knew he was the one and he was the Best Cat Ever. I always told everyone that he picked me.i still grieve for him.

(2,867 posts)I went to a cat rescue organization looking for a black cat with white feet that I could call Boots (not original, but I liked the name). There, sitting on the desk, was a gray striped tabby. I reached out to pet her and she rubbed her head against my hand. I was immediately smitten. I stooped down and she jumped right into my lap. Then she laid on the floor so I could give her belly rubs while she held on to my hand and kicked her feet. I knew then and there she was my cat.
I still named her Boots. We had 11.5 wonderful years together until I lost her to cancer. I still miss her.

(55,301 posts)I have had two Chihuahuas and I am never surprised by what they do. My dad could never get over "how many brains fit into such a small head". He must have said that at half of our family dinners when my babies were there with us. I still smile when I think of them. They visited me when they died and one still does. There is a very strong bond on an energy level that I don't understand but that's Ok since I people can't understand about 99.9% of consciousness. I'm lucky, very lucky!
