I effing hate getting my car smogged! Five years ago my check engine light came on just before the test. Smog stations

here won’t run the test if the CE light is illuminated. Long story short, the dealer wanted nearly $1,000. to replace a faulty sensor and I couldn’t find another mechanic who would do the work for less.

So,…I bought an OBD reader to erase the error code and reset the CE light. I then have to complete a drive cycle to reset the monitors. A pain in the ass, but a hell of a lot cheaper than $1,000.!

2. I feel your pain. Just went through the same thing. My registration required that

I go to a STAR smog station. About $600 and 200 miles later, finally passed.

5. The DMV is a pain in the ass. You buy a hybrid vehicle to use less gas, good idea huh?

Then when you go to get the license plates & registration for the car they add a $75.00 surcharge on hybrid/electric cars cuz you aren’t wasting enough fuel to generate enough gasoline tax for the state

6. All my lights are on. Check engine, check brakes! Fluids low (I can't actually remember what all of them are)

But when I went to a place after the brake light went on because I was actually concerned and the guy checked and said my brakes were fine and that the lights just come on at certain intervals I swore I would not check anything again!

And I haven't. It still runs fine.
