1. Diana Damrau - without a doubt

2. I agree, very intense performance. And the costume is much better than this one:

where the person dressed her like she's the daughter of the jolly green giant -_-

Kudos to Diana for still slaying it.

I think I like the second one better even though it is not a part of a full opera or in costume.

4. she is such a badass. What I love about her..

is that in every performance of Der Holle Rache, you're not even aware of just how difficult that aria is because she becomes the Queen of the Night. It's incredible to watch.

5. My money's on Lucia Popp. The quality of the clip is outdated

technology but even with that her brilliance shows through.

As for worst costume, it's a horse race but I'll take Cristina Deutekemp for $500, Alex.
