Is anyone noticing a shortage of yarn?

A couple of places I’ve visited are sold out of much of their yarn.

I guess this would be a good place to ask folks where they buy yarn.

Isn't this the time of year people start thinking about sweathers and hats and mittens and gifts?

should I happen to be at Michaels (easiest craft store for me) at this time of year for yarn, art, jewelry, decorative supplies - the yarn starts "disappearing" in droves! 😄

My local Joann is a mess - who knows what they have - or what box it is still in.

My local yarn stores - the unique stuff sells out almost as fast as it comes in. Basic stock seems to be adequately stocked.

But to be honest I’m not looking very hard. There seems to be a giant stash of yarn lurking in various places in the spare bedroom 😄

Dizzy Sheep and Yarn doc Com. I've decided I want to pay the price for wool (yikes) because it's so much warmer than acrylic, although I do love all the colors for acrylic.

They have decreased the number of aisles displaying yarn as well. I sometimes get yarn at Joanns but for the most part I buy yarn on line.

My wife and I visit wool festivals and crafts fairs in NY and wherever we travel, and some of these have great opportunities for acquiring great yarn. It's a big plus being able to see it and touch it, as I'm sure you know.

She tends to stock up when good deals come up.

WEBS online has a great selection of all sorts of yarn and frequent sales.

Michael's has reduced the yarn aisles dramatically but haven't looked in a few months. I am actually contemplating selling some of my stash.

I'm also looking to get rid of some of my stash, but don't know where to start. There was a yarn shop going out of business near by a couple years ago and my eyes were too big for my stomach.

This is a specific Facebook group for just buying and selling yarn. I have not used it but think I will give it a try.https://www.facebook.com/groups/yarnstashandsell/
