Related: About this forumSheela Na Gig Embroidery
I just posted on my blog today about this Sheela Na Gig embroidery I made. I decided to make it into a pillow. Sheela na gigs were carved onto churches in the British Isles as an anasyrma or evil-warding totem. It was believed exposing the genitals warded off demons and bad luck!

Looks like your pillow is about to give birth. I'm amused.

I think it is a bit silly. I love historical silliness and old superstitions.

I've been working on it. Satin stitching looks so easy, but it's very hard to do neatly!

I have Sheela na Gig sitting over my back door. It's a resin cast of one from a church in England.
