and remember how cool it was to get a sandwich for 60 cents, a big root beer for 20 cents and you had room left over for an ice cream cone. A dollar for yours and a dollar for buying the same for the girl you just met who has sparkling eyes and then you walk along after and reach for her hand as you walk. When she takes your hand you get a jolt to your heart and you start thinking that if this is forever it would be really cool.

Producer Tony Visconti wrote in his bio that they rehearsed this song at Kaylan's Laurel Canyon home before recording it the next day:
