Related: About this forumI wrote a James Bond/Peter Gunn genre song about Charles Koch. Can I get feedback?
It's about a fictional global warming villain, but it was inspired by the Koch brothers.
I'd love to get artistic feedback!!

Theres a man whos burning the earth
For a plot that hes plotting
He thinks the fast rising seas
Will be fun for yachting
And when he looks at the trees
He feels greed for lumber
All he wants is the world
And its his for the plunder
And he cries tears of acid rain
And he bleeds crude oil from his veins
Hes the man whos burning coal
Where there used to be a soul
Theres a man whos burning the earth
And youre his next victim
Loves a disease he believes
And youre but a symptom
Hell bleed you dry, and then fly away
As your heart is breaking
All he wants is the world
And its his for the taking
And he cries tears of acid rain
And he bleeds crude oil from his veins
Hes the man whos burning coal
Where there used to be a soul
When all is smashed and destroyed
Hell be in his rocket
His plan is being deployed
And not a man can stop it
Of course, someone will try
But there are a million ways to die
And he cries tears of acid rain
And he bleeds crude oil from his veins
Hes the man whos burning coal
Where there used to be a soul
Hes the man whos burning coal
Where there used to be a soul

(70,656 posts)I hear a bigger guitar sound for the chorus to add impact, as well as harmonies.
It's good as it is, but that's how I would put icing on the cake.

(3,396 posts)Your Sweet Jane is very sweet. Lou Reed and Ian Hunter would both give thumbs up.

BTW: everything you hear is me. I'm playing and singing everything.
Doing everything is part of the fun.
I'm too lazy to write, so covers of songs I always dug is what I mess with.
I can write melodies, changes, rhythms & arrangements in short order.
Lyrics not so much. I've got 50 unfinished tunes because by the time I got arrangement ideas down and started recording, I quit liking the lyrics.
9 or 10 out of 60 ever made it to the finish line.
I just don't care enough anymore to have 85% of my effort be pointless.
