It’s a epiphone which is owned by Gibby a release of Peter Greens les with the neck humbucker flipped upside down and then out of phase in selector.
Years ago I discovered MIJ made in Japan guitars first one I bought was a 79 Tokai les Paul reborn supposedly clone of R8 off another soldier for couple hundred.
And today there is some truth and bullshit myth in the made in Japan markets. Some Japanese guitars are stellar instruments on their own and others just junk.
And over years I’ve collected other Japan Lester’s and strats because they were well below the greed prices yet impeccable in build and tone compared to Nashville or greed of Coronado.

Yet my favorite when it comes to a les Paul is Burny super grade and especially those super grades manufactured by Japan Dyna Gaki. My super grades would put Nashville Gibson to shame they should go Japan and learn quality and attention to detail Burny super grades stellar instruments.
I just found another DynaGaki super grade on line and I’m bidding on it. Why this line of super grade one long tenon and it’s apples and oranges long tenon medium tenon my preference
Who in the shit wouldn’t like to have a new les Paul American standard or fender American series yet they’re so overpriced because of the letter G or F on headstock. I have one Gibby standard 95 odd because it has long tenon and was done in nitro probably after market pro paint strip new paint then nitro it was consignment buy.
So today on way home from day trip we had stop at the Walmart of guitar stores guitar center why because sons girlfriend wanted go to marshals to look at Christmas decorations and Gc was in same stores and parking lot. I prefer mom pop stores yet today it’s reverb .com no more brick mortar store.
So my son goes look at this it was epi Peter green / Kirk Hamnet Greeney $1499 dam for epiphone. You can get same epi quality $500 less in buying the 59 reissues or used maybe $600.
While back I had a Vintage it’s U.K . company anyway I had this same idea of greeney clone vintage V100 lemon distressed come across my work bench I think they call it Vintage PMG is what dude told me.
He wanted replace bridge tail piece post all aftermarket tuners and for me to drop in these Dimarzio PAF new pots caps period late 50’s. Used I think he told me $450 brand new i think $800. Finish was great can’t remember what I know it wasn’t nitro yet after I well my one son and i got it completed it was tone beast.
Other week I upgraded Harley Benton sc 450 for young teen you know with upgrades humbuckers we’re sounding sweet in $225 used guitar mahogany body maple cap rosewood fret or maybe Indian rosewood can’t remember the specs on neck wood.
$1500 for clone of now Kirk hammets Greeney. Here is something think about google Eastman SB 59 nitro finish long tenon handmade out of china used $1500 range. Today players can’t afford American made they’ve priced us out.
Yet people are brainwashed they think just because my geetar has G or F on headstock made murica automatically makes them super player. Price tag don’t make you decent player just dyslexic bad punctuation rant but this is just corporate greed.
And I’m not getting the thread between Metallica new greenery owner they actually don’t give off the blues rock of Fleetwood Mac in Peter greens day.

I first discovered these guitars by accident when I was playing in a club in Idaho Falls Idaho. During the day I wandered down to a local music store, Chesbro Music with the intent of trading my Gibson SG for something different. Don't worry, the SG I had was a horrible guitar, great sounding pickups but the neck was really "spongey". That might not be the correct term but the effect was that I couldn't play rhythm on it without it flexing in and out of tune constantly. The neck wasn't broken or damaged, just soft.
Anyway the sales person checked out the guitar and liked it and offered any of the telecasters on his wall in exchange for the SG and $50. I checked out all the tele's and settled on one that was in my opinion butt ugly but the best of the bunch. It was a original 1969 Paisley Caster which at the time (late 70's) weren't the collectors items they are now. Even though I didn't know of their future collectability at the time I definitely got the better deal in that trade.
After we finished the trade the sales guy offered to show off the new line of Ibanez guitars they had just gotten in. As I remember he mentioned they were going to be a distributor for them in the western US. I liked them. Very nicely made guitars. He offered to bring a few down to the club where we were performing. I said that would be great but really didn't believe he would show up. As well I told him even though I liked what I was trying out at the store my income could afford a new guitar.
After I left the store I forgot about it thinking he wouldn't show anyway.
That night, as we were playing, in walks the guy from the music store with not just one, but 3 new Ibanez Artist guitars. I got to try out all three that night live on stage. Very nice guitars, played really well, sounded great. A very "Gibson" kind of sound something like my SG but way more solid. Perfect for the Southern Rock type of music we were playing at the time. I really liked them. I thanked him and told him I wish I could afford one but I can't. He said no problem and said he was happy to hear them played.
A few years later I did finally get a couple of my own. A Black 82 and a beautiful violin finish 84 pictured below.
These can still be found used in the $1000 and up range. Way better buy for your money than many currently IMHO overpriced Gibsons.

Those Yamaha's are nice guitars. I've never been lucky enough to find one reasonably priced. Another nice one is the Washburn "Wing" series of guitars. That early period of late 70's and early 80's Japanese guitars had quite a few exceptional brands and models.
