School had overbooked dorm rooms, so they put a few of us up in rented apartments! AMAZING such 'conservative' students, they almost had to beg us sophomores to take apartment!

I will never forget that night. Went out and bought my first Beatles album sometime that following week.

And I will never understand how Paul McCartney didn't get the message that he was supposed to marry me.

We didn't get reception for CBS at Mom & Dad's house, so they took me to Grandma's house, but she wasn't getting good reception that night, so I ended up next door at "Miz Conway's" house. I watched it on the floor in front of her console TV with her granddaughters, one of whom was named Janet. We were sooooo excited!

... the Beatles' appearance on Ed Sullivan, The Saturday Evening Post published a cartoon I did about them. I was a junior in high school, and I was a hero for about a week before I went back to being the kid who scribbled pictures in the back of algebra class.
I wish I still had a copy of that 'toon. It featured a Dad with his back to the front door dropping his martini, when his daughter came in with a Beatle by the arm, and the caption read, "A what followed you home and can you keep him?"
It was my first professional cartoon. I got $75 for it. I still make my living as an artist.
