McCartney reunited with his missing 'Beatlemania' bass guitar

https://www.rawstory.com/mccartney-reunited-with-his-missing-beatlemania-bass-guitar/

Paul McCartney has expressed his gratitude after the Beatles legend was reunited with a missing bass guitar that he owned in the 1960s and used on several Fab Four tracks. . .

The instrument was then thought to have been lost during the London "Get Back/Let It Be" recording sessions in January 1969, but an investigation last year discovered that it was actually stolen in 1972.

A bass player who filled in with us for a while (original bass player had to work shifts for about 15 months) had one of those Hofners.
Not sure how Paul put up with it.
The balance is terrible. Very head & neck heavy.
To my hand, the neck felt like a 2×4.
No wonder Paul went Rickenbacker & Yamaha. Oh, and had his later "Hifner" heavily modified.
Bit, it's super cool he got that legendary piece back!
