He was 5' 5" but his face --- he looked like John Wayne.

The topography of his face shows years of working hard and years of smiles and laughter.
I made him screen-sized and just gazed into his eyes awhile. The longer I looked, the more he seemed to become the face of a grand old tree-trunk, carved and gnarled and ruggedly magnificent. Blink, and hes back at the pond, listening to his wifes suggestions of where to place the plants.
