Related: About this forumLast Batch: Hummingbirds.
Except for maybe a dozen, all the rest of the hummingbirds have left for their winter home. I'm sure the ones still here will be leaving soon.
Thank you for enjoying the hummingbirds with me.

(64,104 posts)Maybe you could find a You Tube of hummers for the kit kids? I've seen plenty of video clips of cats watching things on screens & reacting. lol

(94,348 posts)They go from window to window to watch the birds. The little idiots even smash into the windows trying to get the birds. The birds will sometimes hover to watch the cats back.

(64,104 posts)Poor kitties being taunted by birds.
Well, the birds are keeping them young, right? LOL
Do you have birds who stay for the winter?
There are virtually ZERO birds here. Every now and then I see a group of 9 or 10 sitting on phone wires together, but that's it.

The wasp started on the feeders and got so many attacks he flew to the pole.

(64,104 posts)Poor things must be really hungry. Do others in your area not put up Hummer feeders?
I saw another post saying how sad it was to see bees fighting for pollen. Very sad indeed. They might do this every year, not sure.
Solly Mack
(94,348 posts)scarce. I allow some flowers to go to seed so the birds can eat the seeds. We have wild berries that can make it through winter, so birds have those too.
Other people put feeders out.
I'll keep mine out for a few more weeks for the just in case.

(64,104 posts)I signed up for the TN Pollinators program and just received my packets of Milkweed to be planted this fall. Trying to decide where to put them. I requested 2 packets of each of the 2 types. This is for the Monarch Butterfly project, but I'm sure other pollinators will benefit too, the "Red" and "Common."
