Tonight's partially eclipsed moon!

It was a complete surprise to see this happening tonight. I thought the partial eclipse wouldn't last very long, and I was wrong.

This photo has not been edited in any way.

Hope you enjoy!

1. Supermoon
2. Blood Moon
3. Harvest Moon

The coinciding of those three phenomena will not occur again for over twenty years.

I appreciate the facts surrounding this moon. I was probably dimly aware of them, but having them written down is a huge help!

And it's a good thing I got this shot now. In 20 years, I will most likely have shuffled off this mortal coil.

Science and philosophy meet in moments like these. It is for us to take a deep breath and appreciate the intersection of the four dimensions we are able to perceive.

Thank you for the photo. The sky is overcast here, but the darkening of the upper portion of the moon is nonetheless apparent through the clouds.

Best wishes for capturing more noteworthy lunar spectacles.

There's a total solar eclipse happening in Egypt in 2027 and I plan to be there. Totality will last SIX MINUTES.

That's something I want to see and photograph!

And thanks, it's raining really hard here so we'll be missing the northern lights too. But it will help with the fires, we've got some big ones around the region and it's good sleeping weather.

Have a good night, dear Peggy!

I felt very lucky when I spotted it. The photo brings out the details that are harder to see when you look at it in person.

… hanging pale and low in the sky. It was wondrous to behold. When we got off the freeway and drove into our little valley it was hidden by the surrounding hills, but I was so glad to have seen the Moon in that aspect.

Whenever and wherever the moon presents herself to us, it's miraculous!

Thank you, my dear Hekate, for showing me just what you saw last night. Now it's part of my memory too.

The weather man on our local tee vee news had said this would happen last night, but when I went outside at the designated time to look, it was too cloudy to see anything. So now I get to see it from your wonderful photo. 🙂. You certainly were in the right place at the right time, with camera in hand!
