we took a vacation to iceland and scotland. while in iceland there was a geomagnetic storm and an aurora display. managaed to get some good shot both on land and from a ship as we sailed to northern scotland. Had to fight extremly windy condition as i shot the siplay. (winds over 40 mph)

(4,595 posts)I spent part of a winter at the airbase. I think we had two sunny, calm mornings. The rest of the time we held on to ropes and chains to keep from getting blown away. When we lined up the airplane into the wind, we had about half of the airspeed needed to take off before we released the parking brake.
But at least the showers never ran out of hot water

(2,922 posts)we took a cruise for 8 days after a few days in iceland. the ship had to cancel the first 2 ports due to winds of 55+ knots and high seas. they literally ahd to batten down the hatches over teh window in our room.
in iceland i staill had 30-40 mph winds while on shore
