Related: About this forumToday there's a new venue for the Manhattan Beach Farmer's Market!
An old parking garage is being torn down and since it's near our former marketplace, it was decided to move the market to this new venue! Much larger, with more space for each vendor and lots of room for the happy customers! (me included!)
Hope you enjoy!

When I saw the backlit jars of honey, I knew I had to get those! Backlit is one of my big favs. The figs are top with me as well.

(152,479 posts)It's really nice--a lot more spread out with more room for everybody.
I wanted to see how close I could get to the marigolds! (I'm thinking I want a macro lens!) And those flowers (the ones that look like they've got stitches?) So beautiful!

(93,562 posts)Though I only have what's in my clunky point/shoot. It's a decent lens. I have a technique that I'm sure you'll appreciate, I'll put the glass right up against the subject and back off from there. I want to see the pollen grains, dangit.

(152,479 posts)Andy had a 60 mm macro lens and I've been eying it on a website. I have to think about how much use I'd get out of it and then I pause.
Someday, maybe . . .

(93,562 posts)You'll use it far more than you think, like at the farmer's market because all those closer closeups you imagine but can't reach... you might never go back!
When Ilook for a camera, anymore, I check to see the macro capabilities first.

I"m still thinking about it.

She's damn good.

(3,653 posts)Thanks, Peggy! I was at my market in Maine today for the best feta in the world, and picked up a giant (6.5 lb) cabbage, deciding there and then to try again to make sauerkraut. Its in my gorgeous fermenting jar right now. I love going to the farmers market!

(152,479 posts)I just got done with dinner and that kept me from answering you sooner. Mea culpa!
It's a very expansive venue. Lots of room for everyone, vendors, shoppers and all of us.
It definitely is a win!
And you know how I feel about sharing.
