I didn't think to post this here earlier, and not sure how many might be interested, but tomorrow night--May 31st--is the premiere showing of Deadwood The Movie. This is the long awaited (13 years!) finale to the original series.
It will be on HBO, HBO Go and HBO now. The story is set in 1889, 10 years after the dates of the series, which was unceremoniously ended and left many plot lines unresolved. South Dakota has become a state and there is a celebration in Deadwood. Almost all of the original cast members have returned, with exception of those that have passed away in the past decade--Powers Boothe and Ralph Richeson.
So far all of the reviews I've seen have been favorable. It's been a long time coming, I can't wait!

(2,015 posts)When the series was cancelled I cancelled HBO and swore I wouldn't re-up until they finished the show. I kept to it (I am good at holding a grudge, lol) and just this week signed up for a 7 day free trial of HBO through Amazon Prime. Ended up signing up for HBO NOW so we have more flexibility and will cancel the 'plain' HBO channel.
As soon as dinner is done, we'll be watching the movie. At long fking last!!!
