(55,941 posts)3. a few years ago I parked under that same bridge in the median
was hauling some animals to the sale in Willcox, got a flat on the stock trailer. pulled in there since it was "clean" from the cops parking there all the time and in the shade. It was summer and hot as hell. had to call home for help as the tire had blown out but the tread was intact and had double wrapped around the axle. I don't remember how the hell we got it into town, but I remember the tire repair guys having a hell of a time getting it off.
anyway I remember the cop that stopped yelling at me for parking there, I told him I did it to shade the animals in the trailer and besides I see him and his buddies parked under there all the time. he did at least ignore my expired plates.

WILLCOX, Ariz. (13 News) - The Arizona Department of Transportation praised the contractors, law enforcement agencies and its New Mexico counterpart for their efforts after a deadly crash forced an extended closure of I-10 and emergency repairs of a damaged overpass in southeastern Arizona on Wednesday, May 3.
The repairs allowed highway officials to reopen the highway only two days after it was closed.
A temporary structure is in place at the US 191 bridge at I-10 milepost 331, allowing ADOT to make a long-term plan for future steps. At a minimum, the pier, girders and deck where the crash occurred will likely need to be replaced.
-snip-
A welder who was on site for nearly the entirety of the project told ADOT engineers that he is 80 years old but still at it for his sons company, which was a subcontractor.
Ive retired six times but love what I do, he said.
