'Insanity': Swing district Republican slams AZ GOP over 'Eat Less Kittens' billboard
An Arizona Republican Party ad mocking Haitian immigrants continued to resonate Monday following J.D. Vance's support of baseless rumors and criticism by a local GOP legislative candidate.
The Chick-fil-A-themed ad, which the party ran last week on a number of digital billboards in Phoenix, portrayed kittens in cow costumes urging the public to "Eat Less Kittens. Vote Republican."
The ad referenced unproven rumors spread on social media and by former President Donald Trump that Haitian immigrants in Springfield, Ohio, are eating residents' dogs and cats along with urban wildlife. Vance, Trump's running mate, said on Sunday if he had to "create stories" to bring attention to immigration issues, he would do it....
Ari Bradshaw, a Republican running in central Phoenix for one of two state House seats, criticized the state GOP ad on X.com Monday, drawing rebuke from some readers.
"Our Haitian community doesn't deserve this. I hope the @AZGOP takes down these insensitive billboards immediately and replaces them with actual issues people care about," Bradshaw wrote. The GOP said last week the ads would run through Friday.
