New voting center planned for Election Day voters in Fort Smith
FORT SMITH, Ark. — A former medical clinic will be open to voters on Election Day in Fort Smith.
The voting center will be located at the Brooken Hill Drive and Jenny Lind Road intersection in the Fianna Hills neighborhood.
"The old Mercy Clinic had more room, and so we are not going to have to decrease the amount of voting equipment. It will be the exact same as what we had at Forefront Church," Taylor Chase said. "We were thankful that we've been able to have it there. The residents really appreciated having it there. So finding a location that was very, very close by was of the utmost importance and also holding the same amount of voting equipment, because it is a pretty heavily trafficked location."
Chase is the chairperson of the Sebastian County Election Commission.
Forefront Church has been a neighborhood voting center for more than two decades, but it is not a polling site for the upcoming November elections.
