Former Arkansas gubernatorial candidate Chris Jones announces bid for DNC vice chair

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Former Arkansas Democratic gubernatorial candidate Chris Jones announced his bid for a position on the Democratic National Committee.

Jones announced his candidacy for vice chair at-large of the DNC in an interview on CNN’s The Source with Kaitlan Collins.

DNC chair candidate: Democrats must be willing to ‘recenter’ agenda
In the interview, Jones said the Democratic party has missed opportunities with the working class, people of color and rural voters.

“It’s time to rebuild the Democratic Party,” Jones said. “Over the last few years, our party has lost momentum. We’ve lost our innovative spirit. We’ve missed critical opportunities to engage the working class, as well as Black and brown, young, and rural voters, and so many others who are critical to our coalition and success. Now, with Donald Trump returning to the White House, the challenges facing our democracy are dire. We need to think big, and act with urgency.”

that justifies him pointing out lost opportunities by everyone else? I don't see any Democratic electoral wins, just Sarah Huckabee Sanders consolidating power and signing laws that put children to work in chicken processing plants.

just not sure, again, what success in Arkansas he can tout that show he didn't miss those same opportunities he is talking about the rest of the Party missed.

I don't know much about Jones other than the fact that he’s an MIT PhD which is awesome and the fact that he most certainly would have a better sense of the people we need to reach.

for common folks, so an MIT PhD, why would he be the best person to reach these just plain folks?

And again, again, have we any success in Arkansas Mr Jones can attribute to his sense about communities we aren't currently reaching?

He might just be great, but an awful lot of experts are telling the Party what needs to be done, and why they are the best positioned to do these things.
