Some one wasted $20 plus on gas.
IRS gives you a 67¢ a mile deduction so that is an expensive trip for nothing.

Try Highway 5 from Highway 580 to Highway 99.
It's a boring drive even during the day.

of all the night drives to get to the Grand Canyon or other national parks, when my family would take 2 to 3 week camping trips, or coming home from visiting relatives who lived 2 to 3 hours away. The year is different, mine was in the 1960's. Driving on 4 lane highways, then to 2 lanes, waking up and seeing the lights of a city and falling asleep again, sitting in the back seat of a mercury station wagon, the little kids sleeping in the back. No seat belts back then. (There were 6 children and 2-3 adults, my grandmother sometimes came with us.) I don't know how my father did it, but he always drove, never my mother. I only watched 10 minutes or so of the video, but from what I saw it was nostalgia for me.

my grandmother's house in Santa Cruz. My husband, who surfed, drove that section of highway a lot and saw a few collisions.
