Friend works at Christiana Care and said that they are halting the vaccinations of staff.

Appointments are being cancelled for those who already had their first shot, and staff who have not received their first shot yet are being turned down for scheduling an appointment. Said this is so the public can have enough shots for their vaccination drives.

According to Carney, Phase 1B includes all individuals 65 and over, and front line essential workers including: fire, police, correctional officers, teachers and education staff (including child care providers), U.S. postal workers, food manufacturing, agriculture, transportation, and grocery store workers.

I'm in that group (educational staff), but I'd rather make sure my dr. and staff had their's first. I can control more whom I come in contact with than they can. If I needed an ambulance, I'd rather know that the attending paramedics had their full dose.

1. I haven't got my vaccination yet. My friend who's also over 70 jumped right on the Walgreens site

And got a shot. I tried it a couple hours later and they were already booked up. So I’m still just waiting at home, being over 70 and immunocompromised But I’m with you, I do want my doctors and nurses to get it first. It only makes sense. The objective is to stop the spread. I didn’t know Christiana had run out of vaccine. Thanks for the update

outlet per my insurance company. I'll start checking in on the Walgreen's website. Thanks for the heads up. I was surprised (but not at the shortage of available vaccines). I'll start checking the website periodically.

3. Yes I'd rather get it there too, at my usual drugstore. I keep checking the website as well

I'm in Washington State. I just happened to look and found a bunch of openings for 3 days on a Saturday. Boom. I jumped in. They filled up quick. It's really crazy when you consider the number of hours wasted by millions of people on a national level. And if you don't have a computer or internet.....

In our local system you have to make appointments at a site level and a specific time. And of course everything is full. You can't pick a time range and maximum distance. You can buy a car in the color you want that way, but not get vaccinated.

6. It's a triage situation

You need to prioritize the medical staff in any triage because you expect to put those people to work helping others. It may seem harsh and even scary, especially if your life is on the line but it’s the only workable solution.

Clearly, they are more of a mind to keep the money and prayers flowing.
