(11,255 posts)We have an Aldi, but honestly, the last time I went, I could have sworn I was in Dollar General. Couldn't find anything, and the non-grocery aisles had expanded to 4!
I live in Harrisonburg, VA, which is a pretty affluent college town. You would think if they could put one in Murfrees-damn-boro, they could put one here!!!

(3,037 posts)With a State Farm insurance regional HQ to boot. Quite a suburb community of Nashvegas.
What makes MTSU any better than James Madison University? We also are the HQ of Rosetta Stone. We also have Eastern Mennonite University.

(3,037 posts)Like population? Harrisonburg ~51k vs Murfreesboro ~165k would seem a likely reason.

(3,037 posts)But hey, I get it. Youre lightly populated villages and hamlets in Virginia dont have enough Trader Joes.

(11,255 posts)and Harrisonburg doesn't. Something stinks. We've been lobbying for one for some years and all we got was a badly managed Aldi.

(8,943 posts)Brookland is the best neighborhood in DC. Single family and multi family mix, college life, medical staff from multiple hospitals, nightlife ( somewhat young from the college but fun just the same) the Shrine and Franciscan Monastery, Howard Divinity school, Theater at the college and a metro stop in the middle of it all!
