PM Update: Clearing and cool tonight ahead of a terrific Tuesday

There was very little rain locally this morning. That 0.01 inches should go into the books for D.C., which is more than the trace at Dulles and up in Baltimore. Places to the south saw heavier activity and even a few rumbles of thunder. Despite the morning rain, sunshine broke through by midday, and it ended up a rather nice day, even if was on the cool side. Get ready — it’s about to get better.

Through Tonight: Skies trend clear as the sun sets. We stay that way overnight. Lows are in the upper 40s to lower 50s. Winds are out of the south and southwest around five mph.

Tomorrow (Tuesday): Lots of sun. Scattered clouds may be most numerous in the morning, but almost certainly more rays than today. High temperatures range from near 70 to the mid-70s. Winds are from the west around 10 mph.
