Jan. 19, 1807. I remember when a lot of Dixie states were forced to observe the Federal holiday of Martin Luther King, Jr.s birthday, they referred to the holiday as Lees birthday instead.
Ive been living in Georgia a long time but didnt know Black Friday was supposedly RELs birthday now!
Its nice for people to get a day off (those who dont already get the Saturday after Thanksgiving off!), but Id rather April 9 be a holiday the date of Lees surrender at the Appomattox courthouse.
