Idaho sports company sentenced for defrauding South Dakota, Alaska tribes

An Idaho company that claimed to help schools fund athletic programs has been sentenced in federal court for taking thousands of dollars from the Oglala Sioux Tribe.

The company owner and two of his supervisors were also sentenced for each of their respective convictions for wire fraud and conspiracy to commit wire fraud, according to U.S. Attorney Ron Parsons.

Christopher A. Hoshaw, 45, of Meridian, Idaho, was sentenced Monday to one year of home detention and five years of probation. He is the owner of All Around Sports, LLC.

Hoshaw pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit wire fraud and wire fraud in January. All Around Sports was accused of fraudulently withdrawing almost $219,000 from Alaskan corporation Kokarmuit and $90,000 from the Alaskan city of Ambler. Restitution was ordered as part of the plea deal.
