were a lot of us. I bumped into a neighbors from my childhood . They were coming from Chicago knocking on doors, too . It was a blast especially since they had us doing the get out the vote. So we knocked on Democrats doors in a blue part of the state. So we were spoiled and yet we could claim we contributed.

For the last six days of the election we opened up our house to the Obama campaign and hundreds of volunteers who were canvassing.

We were at a party in a downtown hotel when we found out that my wife had just been elected to our township board and when Obama was declared the winner!

We chanted "Yes We Did" until our voices gave out.

As an added bonus, the previous time that Indiana went blue in 1964, my dad won his first election to the statehouse.
