RUN FOR SOMETHING: Melissa Fisher for Allen County Council, District 1
With a career spanning over two decades in behavioral health, pastoral care, and public service, Melissa is uniquely equipped to address the complex challenges facing our county.
After graduating with degrees in Human Services and Political Science from Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne, a Masters in Psychology from Indiana Tech, and a Masters of Divinity from United Theological Seminary, Melissa has led a career focused on helping those in need. She worked as a case manager for individuals with developmental disabilities before founding a co-owned organization, New Wave Wellness, alongside Erica Pearson. She also serves on the Mayor's Commission Advisory Board for Mental Health. In addition to those roles, she's an associate pastor at Aldersgate United Methodist Church. Prior to this appointment, she was the lead pastor at Faith United Methodist Church.
When she's elected to the Allen County Council, she looks forward to bringing her expertise and experiences to the table and advocating for ways to make our community a better place to live and thrive.
