Okay my fellow Iowans... what the hell is going on with our educational system

under such a red leadership as we have now

We were always ranked in the top tiers of educational excellence and achievement and we have dropped to number 24???

Why are our people not nailing the republicans to the wall on this??

So the American public is fine with the institutions being destroyed.

Education, public health, libraries, nurses, teachers, doctors, healthcare, etc.

which, according to Tucker and his ilk, isn't nearly as "tough" as Putin's.

Coz, you know, women, and "the gays."

5. The US education system is one of the best in the world. The GOP wants to destroy it.

Teachers are leaving the professions, in some states people with a high school education can now get a teaching license.

Teachers are being told how and what to teach.

Nurses, public health workers, election officials are all being attacked.

Yes it is heart breaking to see what the Putin/GOP is doing to the US.

7. Republicans are doing all they can to demonize anything "public"

including "public" education.

Once the US education system was the envy of the world and Iowa was the envy of the US. Now as you say we are 24th (I heard 29th) and headed down like an elevator.

They hate public anything, especially education AND there is a buck to be made there AND they won't answer to school boards AND they can pick their students AND they can neuter or outlaw teacher's unions AND they can get religion into the curriculum through the backdoor. A real trifecta ++ for the privatize crowd.

They will be doing to education what they did to Medicaid - really fucked it up.

Instead of competing with Minnesota and Massachusetts like we used to we now have our sites set on Mississippi and Louisiana.

Kimmy will be pleasing her donors, her Donald and her gawd.

As you said.. we were the top of the ladder.. now we are getting passed up, and we are failing.. and it is not COVID, it is the stealing of public education for religious education.. and the gutting of science by the right.. This is how the dark ages started..it can happen in just a couple of generations.. and I hope DeJear lays it out in the debate tonight!.. Most people are walking around thinking we are still at the top of the heap.. It just floors me

9. DeJear will lay it out but Iowans won't listen

Man what has happened to this state since the second coming of King Terry is just frightening.

If you ever wondered how countries descend into fascism, you lived through it in Iowa. This is almost like a different planet from what I grew up in.

My kids have stated repeatedly they will never come back to Iowa.
