from a pandemic expert, that this likely will go into the Fall. He said it will continue until everyone is either immune or we get a vaccine. He was being realistic, not trying to give us a rosy picture. We need to be prepared and that includes mentally.

For everyone to become immune, doesn't that mean a 100% infection rate? Or is there some other way to achieve immunity?
At a conservative (at this time) 0.5% mortality rate, that's more than 1.6 million U.S. deaths, 35,000,000 worldwide.

(52,358 posts)4. They aren't exactly sure how the immunity factor is working
at this point. Some people may be naturally immune without first becoming infected somehow. Too many unknowns still. We need tests to get info.
