The Sturgeon family was aghast to learn Kentucky law mandated the assault rifle used in the horrific event last week be sold to the highest bidder at public auction, a family statement said.

Yes. Any weapon used in the commission of a crime should be destroyed. Period. (n/t)

... about a year after my son's best friend returned from Iraq and he shot himself with my son's shot gun and after the police offered the gun back to my son and he said he wanted the gun destroyed - the ATF called here to talk to him.
It seems the St Augustine cops sold the gun to someone and it got used in some crime in Maryland and ATF wanted to talk to him. He was down in South Palm Beech, but we told the story to ATF who told us they were going to check the story and get back to us if it didn't pan out.
Why are these weapons getting a chance to be used in further outrage? Guns have no rights - 2nd Amendment or otherwise.
