Former Gov. Edwin Edwards released from hospital after low blood sugar, dehydration scare

Former Gov. Edwin Edwards said he's feeling fine and was released from the hospital late Wednesday afternoon.

"All tests and vital signs are good," said Leo Honeycutt, the family's spokesman.

"I’m feeling fine," Edwards said. "I’m okay. I appreciate all the calls and good wishes."

Edwards was nonresponsive Tuesday morning and was taken Tuesday morning to Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge by ambulance. By evening, Edwards was alert and cracking jokes.
