And the grass continues to grow.

Jesus....I don't think I've ever witnessrd the lushness of vegetation.....this far into summer in Central Maine. Tomorrow's Aug. 1st and everything is green, no browning at all. We've had a lot of overcast/rainy days the entire season. But we get the heat too. Today....it was high 70's, sunny, and raining for 20 minutes. More like a soaking rain. Cool. don't have to water the raised beds again....

She left around the end of June as she’s from up there and stays with family every summer to escape the heat here in Florida. She’s loving it now but when she first got there, it was raining all the time. I miss her and one of these days, I’d love to go with her for just a few days as it looks so beautiful up there.

the way life should be.

You ought to visit. Grew up on the So. MainE Coast, but truly enjoy being right in the middle of nowhere (2 miutes to downtown). Right now it seems heaven on Earth....

My cousin's starting to look for a house in Lubec; moving from near Lyme NH (where they just got a contract to sell.)

Seriously, closer to St. John, NB, than Bangor, Me. Which I recommend.....a night bar hopping in St. John, during a foggy night. Loved my times there.

and there’s lots of wonderful scenery, and few people, in eastern ME and nearly New Brunswick. At John, Grand Manan. Many large quiet lakes of eastern ME too.
But it’s not extremely remote. Only 1-3/4 hours to Ellsworth, and 2-1/4 hours to Bangor or St John NB The road from Calais to St John is restricted access divided Highway like an interstate highway, very smooth and fast.

Now hoping my cousin finds a house she/they like, and my friend and I want to make the trip next year. We did go to Lyme and VT spots a couple years ago, VT being a family favorite. (Actually located my folks' vacay house in VT, which has a straight (NIKON shot) to White Mountains.)
