Any suggestions of places to stay in the seaport area of Boston? Or is it better to stay in an outlying town and drive in?

(8,942 posts)I dont know now though. I love the Bostonian and the Parker House. They both used to have a 199 rate which was about as inexpensive as it gets for a Boston Hotel.
Driving and parking is expensive as hell in Boston too, again, pre covid, you could expect to pay close to 40 dollars a day to park

(844 posts)We stayed in Plymouth, Great history and harbor, Take the wale watch tour! You can take the train in to Boston. Or you can take the ferry to Boston. but that is pricey.

While I've never failed to see whales, on one September trip, I saw 35 humpbacks with full breaches and one mother with calf who came right up to the boat.

(2,788 posts)Leave your car. It's a walking city. Quincy, Braintree just south. Lechemere is a good locale just north. We did an Airbnb in Charlestown that had a parking space for a wedding recently. Uber works.
