With the Friday morning data that we have looked at so far, we are still on our way to impactful snow Saturday morning. However, for some the evening commute may see some light rain as this system moves in. The heavy falling snow at times Saturday has prompted winter weather advisories to be issued for all of mid-Missouri.
The timing of arrival has been a bit tricky to pin down. It'll start as just rain after 5-6 p.m. for most of the area. After midnight, the switch from rain to all snow will be a gradual one. Here is a look at futurecast at 10 p.m. Friday and 2 a.m. Saturday.
If the rain is heavy enough to wash away salt laid on the roads that could cause a few problems. Temperatures will be hovering between 31-36 degrees as colder air moves in. Some may see just rainfall south of Highway 50 through 4 a.m. on Saturday. When that switchover to snow occurs, the snow is expected to fall very heavily, reducing visibility, and deteriorating road conditions.
Snow is expected to move from north to south and out of mid-Missouri. This looks to happen starting late in the morning Saturday and into the early afternoon.https://krcgtv.com/news/local/latest-on-saturday-snow-friday-morning-update
