Workers at Sunset Station vote to unionize
Sunset Station Hotel & Casino has become the fifth Station Casinos property where workers have voted to unionize over the past three years.
According to an announcement released Thursday, the unionization vote took place over two days through a secret-ballot process supervised by the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB); 437 workers participated and 83 percent of them voted to unionize.
The approximately 600 workers will be now be represented by Culinary Workers Union Local 226 and Bartenders Union Local 165.
Sunset Station is the fifth Station Casinos property where workers have voted to unionize since 2016. Boulder Station workers approved representation in 2016, Palace Station and Green Valley Ranch in 2017, and the Palms last year. Station Casinos is third-largest private-sector employer in Southern Nevada.
