In Albany, Franklin Graham hopes for Christian political awakening
Talking to reporters just before the start of his noon prayer meeting in Albany’s West Capitol Park, Rev. Franklin Graham said that if he could ask for one blessing, it would be “an army of men and women standing for God across this country.”
That’s the purpose of his 50-state “Decision America” tour. “I want to urge Christians to go the polls and vote, and I want to encourage Christians to also run for political office,” he said.
Graham has not endorsed either major-party presidential candidate, though he is using the tour to encourage the faithful to examine the records of Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump for their respective adherence or lack thereof to Biblical principles and “sympathy for (the) Christian cause.”
“One of the two is going to be our next president, whether we like it or not,” said Graham, the son of iconic evangelist Billy Graham.
