employment issues. Including, raising the minimum wage.
I mean, they can do it, but it'll be a legal fight and undoubtedly Ken Paxton will sue and try to stop. But, I guess, we'll see.

But it is illegal to raise the minimum wage in Texas via city ordinance. Fucking Republicans.

(5,246 posts)3. Yes, Austin has tried to get sick leave for all workers (the nerve!),
outlaw plastic bags, and pass other progressive policies, and every time the state lege says they can't. Molly Ivins used to advise people that before they embraced states' rights, they really ought to come look at the Texas lege.
